Hero's Journey with Horses,  Australia

What if You Accepted the Invitation to become the Hero of Your Own Life?

January 5 - 8, Ballarat, Australia

Co-sponsored by Equine Learning Experiences Australia, Emily McVeigh, director.

When facing challenges, obstacles, or transitions, it’s easy to feel like life is a battle filled with struggles. Or that you are powerless to change difficult circumstances. However, you can create new meaning and open up positive possibilities through a powerful shift in perspective.

It all begins with a simple question: What if you were no longer at the effect of your circumstances, but instead were the hero of your own mythic adventure?

Embark on your own Hero's Journey with Horses and discover:

  • How to successfully navigate setbacks and move through challenges.
  • How the Hero's Journey framework helps positively alter your perception of yourself and your circumstances
  • How the horses help you tap into your inner strengths and resources to transform obstacles you face
  • How the Hero’s Journey with horses can reveal and guide your pathway forward
  • Practical ways to apply your hero’s experience back home every day.

Ballarat/Buninyong Area

Ballarat

Victoria's largest inland city, Ballarat is a thriving hub of contemporary arts, events and food and wine, with a fascinating heritage backdrop. Explore the legacy of the gold rush, still evident in the magnificent architecture and tree-lined streets of the town today. Admire the city's Victorian and Edwardian buildings, parks, gardens and statues by following one of the visitor information centre's self-guided heritage walks. Spend a day enjoying the fantastic collection of Australian art at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Australia's oldest and largest regional gallery. Catch a show at Her Majesty's Theatre, originally opened in 1875, and wander through specialty shops stocking everything from boutique clothing and books to homewares, crafts and homemade supplies.

Buninyong

Surrounded by a precious band of bush and farmlands with natural springs and creeks, Buninyong's natural environment is one of its greatest assets. Along with several public parks and gardens in the town, it provides shelter for wildlife in a beautiful setting.

Although it's only 13 kilometres from busy Ballarat, Buninyong remains very much its own entity, a charming village that hasn't changed much for decades. There's some splendid colonial architecture that you can discover on a number of easy walks that pass heritage gems like the library (circa 1861), which now houses the local information centre and Bear Hugs, a small shop packed with teddies. Buninyong's wide streets and grand buildings were planned with expectations of a booming metropolis, as were the town's lovely botanic gardens, which are among Victoria's oldest.
