Arizona Ranch Retreat for Midlife Women and Beyond

Telling a New Story:

Redefining Beauty, Passion and Purpose Midlife and Beyond
White Stallion Ranch, Tucson, AZ
March 1 - 6, 2015

Sometimes we lose track of ourselves in midlife. We’re ready for something new, but don’t exactly know what. Or we’re on a new and adventurous path but would like some company. Or there’s an unexpected challenge in front of us.

Whatever is there for you, on this retreat you will connect with horses to add an exciting new chapter to the story of your life.

Horses, by their very nature, touch our spirits with their beauty, freedom, courage, power and heart. They summon within us recognition of our passionate, magnificent selves. They invite us into a new story through a glance, a touch, a breath, or a moment of mirroring back to us something we weren’t previously aware of. In addition to lots of horse time, you will do some creative work that you can take home to remind you of your time with the horses.

Mornings will find us out in the cradle of the mountains doing creative and soulful work with the horses. Afternoons are meant for fun. You can ride, rest, explore Tucson, get a massage, or do a creative project. Evenings will offer a mix of workshop activities and free time. (If you came last year, come again this year. NEW ACTIVTIES will help you develop those new life chapters.

Some of the things we'll explore this year are:

  • Identifying and living your values
  • Honoring your life story so far
  • The Heroine's Journey: Making Meaning of Life's Changes
  • Letting go of what's no longer needed
  • Creating a future that expresses your passion and purpose
  • Answering the call to a life that you love

The family-owned 3,000 acre White Stallion Ranch has a warm, welcoming, atmosphere that will make you feel at home immediately. Guest rooms are spacious and charming and the food is delicious.

The cost includes: all workshop activities,
 five nights lodging (double occupancy),
three meals a day, optional daily horseback riding (through the auspices of the White Stallion Ranch), and ranch entertainment.

$1997 per workshop participant

Your Facilitators

Lynn Baskfield coaches spirited midlife women who want to redefine beauty, passion and purpose in the second half of life.  She guides her clients through rites of passage with storytelling, writing, creative expression, readings, ritual, nature and very centrally, the wisdom of horses. A lifelong horsewoman, she partners with horses, sentient beings who attune to the subtle energies around them, to evoke insights and learning that her clients cannot get by thinking, reading or talking only.  It is Lynn's experience that when her clients connect with themselves through the horses, empowerment and creative solutions emerge quite naturally.

Lynn holds an M.A in Human Development and is a certified life coach, transformational educator and the author of two books. She is owner of SpiritDance Coaching LLC. She has trained with Coaches Training Institute, The Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA), and the Rancho Strozzi’s Horses and Coaching program, and has presented at several national trainings and conferences. She has written two books and speaks and teaches around the world.

Jane Sparks is a woman of spirit and courage. A successful entrepreneur, she has just launched her new company, Carousel Life Coaching. She is also a passionate artist, focusing in Chinese brush painting and calligraphy. As an experienced horsewoman, she will be co-facilitating the horse sessions, as well as bringing her insights and creativity to all that we do.

Special guest

Janice Deardorff has been coming to sing for us and the horses on the last day our our retreat for three years now. She composed the song Dance with the Horses for our 2011 Dancing with the Spirit of the Horse retreat, and sings it for us each year as we really do dance with the horses we've been learning from all week. On Janice’s new CD "Just a Horse", she shares her love for horses, rescue horses and the west. We love having Janice lend her beautiful voice, her love of horses and her creative joy to our retreat experience.
